I WAS AT THE COAT DRIVE AT GATE OF HEAVEN A FEW WEEKS AGO. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL THAT WORKED SO HARD BRINGING ALL THOSE COATS AND CLOTHES INTO THE HALL ARE TRULY BLESSED WITH THE GIFT OF GIVING. IT WAS AWESOME. I DID GET A FEW COATS AND GAVE THEM TO NEEDY FOLKS AND IT WAS MUCH APPRECIATED. I WAS WONDERING WHERE YOUR ORGANIZATION IS AND IF I CAN GET INVOLVED IN IT.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN. YOUR KEEPING MANY PEOPLE WARM THIS WINTER.

It’s a shame you can not reconstruct the beautiful pulpit that Father Lynch destroyed. it’s been many years but I am still angry at what he did. I was a member the liturgical committe and at a meeting he made a propsel about removing some of the pews to make room to enlarge, what a lot of us called a dance floor, at the time there were a lot of objections and he said he would take a vote on it, when the vote went against him he said he was going to do it anyway and as you well know he did. He also was going to remove all the statues and he started to get threating letters that if he did. Well enough of my complaining, that happened long ago. What I really wanted to say was that if you didn’t reach your goal to make the repairs on the church that I could help with a donation. I still consider St. Mary’s my church and still take the chance books every year.

I still am in contact with Father George Werner, great guy.

When I registered my daughter for the intramural program, I received a flier for a parent meeting on Friday, October 7th at 7 PM. Your website says October 17th. Is Friday’s date for the 7th ok.

There is an intramural program which includes Pre-K through 12th graders for boys and girls. Registration is ongoing. Below is the information:

Dates:
Friday Sept. 16, 23
Saturday Sept. 17, 24
Sunday Sept.11, 18, 25

Times:
Fridays 6:30 to 8:30 PM
Saturday & Sunday 11:30 Am – 2:00 Pm

I am interested in the Roman Catholic Faith. I married into a family of Roman Catholics on April 17th 2007. During this time, I have visited many different Catholics Churches with them including Saint Mark’s in Wilmington where my father-in-law was an active member along with my step mother- in-law, Linda Burke. My father-in-law passed away in March following an extended illness, and I attended the funeral services held at Saint Mark’s. It truly hurts me that I cannot participate in communion services with my Catholic Family.
My husband of 8 years and finance since 2004, Robert John “Michael” Burke served as an alter boy and was a Catholic Student in a Roman Catholic Church in upstate New York where he was born and reared until his mother, Mary Dorothy “Teresa” Bilquin Burke had to move to New Jersey to live with her Catholic Sister, Lou Bilquin.
Robert and I have resided at 1025 South Shore Drive, Surf City, NC 28445 since April 2005. We have attended Saint Mary’s on Topsail Island many times since 2005.

I was born and reared in the Pentelcostal Faith until age 12. When my grandmother, Mary Matilda Matthews passed away in bed with me. I then went to live with one of my maternal aunts where I was reared in the First Baptist Faith. I was dedicated and baptized in the Church of God Faith as an infant. I was Baptized again at age 35 in the Baptist Faith.

Please send information so that I can begin the process of becoming a Roman Catholic. I am looking forward to serving in your faith for the rest of my life!

I went SMGH and graduated in 1966, I also played in a band called the GRAPES OF WRATH, we played at many dances at SMGH. I was wondering if there are any reunions being planned, and if there are also any photos of the dances from back in those day’s. I also lost my graduation picture, I alway’s kept it but I finally lost it in one of my moves. I have great memories of my years at SMGH, the nuns, the good times and bad times. Hope that you could respond with some good news, Thanks
