First Holy Communion for 2020
We are happy to announce that sixty-four of our young parishioners will be receiving their First Holy Communion in the coming weeks! The masses will take place on August 1, 2020, at 11:00am and 1:00pm and on August 8, 2020, at 11:00am and 1:00pm. We send them all of our love and support in this long-awaited spiritual milestone. Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, only select family members may be in attendance. However, we will be live-streaming all four masses on our Facebook & Youtube Pages!
New Funeral Details for Miss Camille Ferraro
The Ferraro Family truly appreciates all the love and support given to them during this very difficult time. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictive seating capacity inside the church, we regret to announce that the Funeral Mass for Ms. Camille Ferraro on the morning of Friday, July 24th will be by invitation only.
If you wish to pray along with the Ferraro Family as they say goodbye to an unforgettable presence in their lives and in the lives of the St. Mary Gate of Heaven community, please join the live-streamed Funeral Mass on our Facebook or Youtube Pages.

Camille Ferraro was a graduate of The Mary Louis Academy, Class of 1971.
She was deeply committed to Catholic education and understood and valued its purpose. Contributions in her name can be made to the Joseph M. Lewinger Fund for Student Life. This fund serves to assist any student at TMLA who is suddenly struck with a critical moment in their lives, such as the death of a parent, loss of their home or catastrophic illness, or any type of financial hardship. In Memory of
Camille Ferraro
It is with great sadness that we inform you that Miss Camille Ferraro, our dedicated second grade teacher, has passed away. She went to meet Our Lord today, July 11, 2020, and we are sure she was greeted with open arms.
Miss Ferraro touched the lives of so many generations of children and their families at St. Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Academy over the past four decades. Miss Ferraro was the epitome of a Catholic educator. Besides being a dedicated teacher, she could always be found at all parish events. She volunteered wherever she was needed. Among many other things, Miss Ferraro worked at the bazaar, International Day, and along with her mom, baked cakes for the consolation ministry to bring to bereaved families. If any of her students participated in any event, they would be sure to find Miss Ferraro cheering them on.
Miss Ferraro was an indispensable part of our First Communion team. She prepared the children, participated in their retreat day, and was present at every Mass.
Miss Ferraro will be missed not only for her unsurpassed devotion to St. Mary Gate of Heaven but also for how she made each child feel loved. Please keep Camille Ferraro and her brother Mark in your prayers. Please check back for funeral arrangements or contact the rectory at 718-847-5957.
